Solar cells and virtual reality at the Long Night of Sciences
The NOMAD team from the Humboldt University of Berlin treated visitors to the Long Night of Sciences to a virtual reality (VR) tour of the nanoworld of solar cells.
Visitors were able to experience what happens when light hits a hybrid organic-inorganic solar cell, learning how material scientists combine theoretical and numerical methods with VR tools.
NOMAD VR tools help scientists to explore the massive amount of data produced worldwide in order to improve materials or even discover completely new materials.
If you have access to VR equipment, you can try out demos of our VR tools here.
Or you can have a look at our VR videos here, where you can see how catalysts can convert carbon dioxide into fuel or other useful chemicals and more!
