HoW exciting! 2016 - Workshop on excitations in solids
HoW exciting! 2016 consists of two closely related events, an international workshop and a hands-on tutorial about excitations in solids, held at HU Berlin, Germany, August 3-11, 2016.
Excitations in solids are among the most exciting phenomena in condensed-matter physics. In this context, the electronic-structure approach within density-functional theory (DFT) is the first level in a hierarchical set of models which are needed to quantitatively describe and understand these phenomena in real materials. The relationship of the different computational techniques and domains of applicability is still a challenging task. At the same time, advances in theoretical and computational methods go hand in hand with the progresses in experimental techniques.
