First NOMAD Data Workshop
The NOMAD team met in Garching for the first NOMAD Data Workshop for Advanced Graphics (April 2017).
The workshop gave NOMAD users access to four VR environments, ranging from high-cost, room-sized, cluster-powered CAVE-like installations to low-cost, phone-based Google Cardboard devices. In between, was a PC-based HTC Vive and Samsung Galaxy powered GearVR system. This spectrum of devices allowed users to see the advantages and disadvantages of each device, and to choose the device most suited to their needs.
The team was happy with the tools, and provided valuable input on desired extra functionality, interaction and future directions of work.
