Demos and Software for the LRZ CAVE-like environment

A CAVE-like environment allows multiple people to collaborate within a virtual reality environment.

The LRZ CAVE-like environment of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences is located in Garching near Munich (Germany).
A Powerwall is also available at the center.

NOMAD has exhibited these VR simulations at a number of events.

The post-processed dataset was also used to provide stereoscopic, 360° panoramic videos for outreach.

Instructions for the NOMAD VR viewer for the LRZ CAVE/Powerwall

Users interested in using the LRZ CAVE or Powerwall should contact us to make a reservation. You can also take advantage of the other VR hardware at the LRZ, is so desired.

Follow the tutorials to prepare your datasets.

Usage instructions:

-The controller has one trigger, three top buttons and a joystick.

-The joystick controls the movement and orientation through the scene

-The left and right buttons control the timestep. Pressing the trigger at the same time will change the isosurface.

-The center button allows users to measure distances, angles and dihedral angles.
